$6.50

We had a successful garage sale this morning at our house that began with a bag of kid’s clothes the size of Toledo.

A couple of  hours into the morning I even pulled some of my favorite things into the house for an impromptu Twitter auction and sold a few lots of kid and adult clothes to y’all. Fun!

By 11:30 we were ready to get on with our day so we put up a big “FREE” sign and made the day of several very happy women. Always fun to be somebody else’s “tuck-and-run” source! And what was left at noon we piled into the van and ran down to Goodwill.

That’s just how we roll with garage sales, I guess. If somebody wants it, they don’t leave the sale without it. And things definitely don’t come back inside once we’ve determined that we don’t want/need it.

It’s a very satisfying way to go. I always feel great with less crowded closets and a little extra cash in my pocket. Good day!

Aaand… I did sneak away to 3 or 4 sales down the street and grabbed some cute clothes for Hazel and one killer tuck and run item for me (eeeee!!!)

Here’s what I got:

$1.50 – Clothes for Haze  – We’re not even big football fans, but when you live in/around Nashville, it doesn’t hurt to have a Titan’s cheerleading uniform around just in case.

$2.00 – more clothes for Hazel – LOVE that yellow top! (Also, can you spot anyone’s little diaper bottom in the picture?)

And, my big, happy Tuck-and-Run find of the Day:

$3.00 – Cuisinart 6.5qt Programmable Slow Cooker – yes, $3.00. I’ve been wanting a slow cooker for months and even bemoaning the slow-cooker-shaped hole in my kitchen on Twitter recently. And just like that, there it was. The handle of the lid was a little melted because the owner tried to reheat it in the oven (it’s made of plastic), but other than that, it’s good to go! I cannot wait to put it to work! (Also, the most recent version of this bad boy retails on Amazon right now for $99!)

So, good finds and a great clean-out of unwanted stuff! It was a great Saturday that only got better with a trip to a nearby farm in the afternoon and dinner at my Mom’s in the evening. And the most important way I could possibly conclude this post??

Please share links or recipes for great crock pot recipes! I haven’t had one in years and I’m itching to try it out! Let’s do a link-up party this week so we can all share around!

Happy weekend, friends!

Wheeeee for the crockpot! I know you’re doing a linky, but check out crockpot365.blogspot.com in the meantime. She cooked with her slow cooker every day a couple years ago, and she continues to update, though less often. (She even featured a recipe of mine at one point in time; you’d hate it though, it’s a hot crab dip.) She’s the first place I try if I want to use my crockpot but need a new recipe.
