Stitch Fix for my Sis!

Posted by & filed under Rebecca, StitchFix.

So. I’ve had some fun sharing my little StitchFix adventure with you all here and here. I got lots of good feedback and y’all seemed to really enjoy the fun. BUT, a few of y’all said, “that’s great. you’re adorable. I’m not a size zero – will StitchFix work for me?” Fair question!

And, since I am ever at your service, I turned to my amazing sister. She’d been wanting to give StitchFix a try anyway, and when I suggested we share her fix with y’all, she was in!

May I introduce you to my gorgeous, amazing, talented, mother-of-4-under-6, sister?

Oh, and while we’re making introductions, you may as well met these, too. They are completely unrelated to her fix, but they’re just so lovely, they merit a close-up.

She got that cute tan sweater and yellow bracelet in the first photo, as well as two tops that we weren’t nuts about (3 out of 5 is a great success!), but the dress she got is my (and her!) favorite!

I wish I had taken a photo of the detailing at the top and the pretty exposed zipper on the back. It’s a really nice dress – feels more expensive than it is (love it when that happens!).

So – give my sister some nice-to-meet-you love! (And if you’ve seen her on here before – or you know her IRL-sies –  say hello!)

And if you want to give StitchFix a whirl yourself, sign up here. (You can read details about How it Works in any of my previous StitchFix posts.)

Have an awesome Tuesday, friends! I’m already looking for the weekend!!

Beautiful dress! And what a coincidence! I contacted Stitch Fix a few weeks ago about the possibility of a gift card – for my sister!

I signed up and got a Fix after reading about it here, to “vet” the service and see if it was really as good as it sounded. It was! I kept two shirts and a necklace, and I am one tough customer. So I e-mailed SF about gifts. My sister lost her job a few months ago and has been getting by financially – her husband works, so they’re ok, but their budget is very tight. She recently told me that she misses buying things just because she WANTS them – that it hurts too much to even go look at things she wants because she just never gets to treat herself anymore. So I thought that the excitement and personal attention of SF combined with getting new items would be really fun! I also thought that she could either have a blow-out and use the whole gift card in one fix, or stretch it over a few fixes, and I liked giving her that freedom.

For the record, they said that they don’t have gift cards but what they can do is, once my sister makes an account, I can request that they charge my credit card and apply the credit to her account. So, like how you start each order with a $20 “credit” for having paid the styling fee – the money I ask to be charged will be added to that amount that counts towards her fix. She can request whatever price point, and keep of the items per fix as she wants, so maybe she’ll use the whole credited amount in one go or maybe she’ll stretch it out to two or even three fixes – but I like leaving that part up to her!

Her birthday is next week and I’m psyched to get her signed up and get her fix on the way! I think she will really like it a lot.

Rebecca, you look gorgeous! The dress was a perfect choice. Great fit and interesting pattern. Very lovely. Rae, I think this was a good idea, showing how StitchFix can work for different people.
