Yep, Halloween was ten days ago. So what? We’ve been way too busy eating all the “orange squares*” we coached our children to pick to even think about putting together a photo collage of the event!
*Reeses, of course. You mean you don’t instruct your kiddos to avoid laffy taffy and blow pops??? Go for the good stuff, y’all!
This year Oliver went dressed as Boba Fett (I came upon this costume for $4.50 at a local consignment shop a few months ago and pounced! I refuse to tell you how much we spent on Oliver’s Jango Fett costume last year). I got the electronic (and very heavy!) helmet at another consignment sale for $5.00. Boba Fett was in the stars for this kid and he felt amazing.
When I was buying Oliver’s costume at Once Upon A Child, Hazel selected a pink cowgirl costume. She was as committed as a 2-year-old can be, so for another $4.50, we went for it. (There was nothing homemade this year – so don’t get your hopes up…)
Two days before trick-or-treating, Hazel also fell in love with a Hello Kitty winter hat at Target. From time to time I’m just a big sucker for that girl, so it made its way into our shopping cart and our lives. And thus, throughout the evening, Hazel alternated between “Cowgirl with hat + long braids” and “Hello Kitty in a Cowgirl Costume”.
And really, any excuse for kitty makeup makes Hazel feel awesome.
The point? Our kids felt awesome. I got to walk around and hold hands on a chilly evening with my guy, my Mom came along for fun and fellowship (and apparently Hazel’s one true hand-holder), and we had a lovely time with our people.
Have a great Saturday, friends!
That’s the good stuff right there, Raechel!
I love that she switched it up! The girls eclectic and after my own heart, why stop at one outfit for the evening when you can spice it up a bit! LOVE IT!
The Hello Kitty hat and the cowgirl hat are both adorable. She looks darling. Your little guys outfit is one my son would love. Looks like fun was had by all.

Raechel! Hazel’s eyes are amazing! What stunning little kiddos you guys have. :)
That helmet is SERIOUS.
I’m glad to see my 2 year old wasn’t the only one whose binky came along trick-or-treating!
