the princess bride still has my heart

Posted by & filed under just things.

This is totally random and has nothing to do with our family or Christmastime or anything else. But I’m a child of the 80s, and The Princess Bride is one of my movies. So, finding this image in the great, wide interwebs today made me happy and seemed like it was worth sharing. Because I bet I’m not the only one who has a special place in her heart for Cary Elwes and was truly sad when Andre the Giant passed away. I think the only fella that’s missing here is maybe Fred Savage?

So, who else’s day has been made by this photo? What is your favorite quote from the movie?

Have a lovely Wednesday, loves!

    I’m with Ashley.

    “Anybody want a peanut?”

But you’ve got to say it in THAT voice. I’ll do it for you sometime. I do a mean Andre the Giant impersonation.

Haha – sure! The blue sweatshirt and mustard pants are both from Anthropologie (fairly recently), and the grey buffalo check shirt underneath is from J.Crew a few years ago :) [I did see some really similar pants at target yesterday though and they were a lot less expensive!!]

    Yessssss! This is lovely.

I’ve always personally liked the “She doesn’t get eaten by the eels at this time”..partially because that part really scared me as a child, and I found it comforting and was happy that they cut away, and partially just because I think it’s funny.

And then the classic “You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.” Ah. Good times.

Classic movie. I still can’t believe I didn’t see it for the first time until the late 90s. My family dropped the ball when it came to sharing this with me growing up. I love the scene with the bellows “True love”

Ok, so I hate to admit this… but I haven’t seen this movie yet! I really need to watch it, though. My boyfriend says “as you wish” ….. and says I need to watch the movie. :)

Sadly, Peter Falk is also missing as he passed away recently. This is without a doubt, one of my favourite movies! It is a timeless classic!

LOVE this movie! I have it on DVD, might have to put it on before Christmas :). I love “as you wish” and “you killed my father… prepare to die”.
