Our baby girl turned three on Saturday!
Three.
It seems like just last week I was putting finishing touches on her 2nd birthday crown – or her 1st for that matter!
Yep. This is me getting sentimental about my baby girl growing up. I honestly think her hair got a little longer, her face a little thinner, and her legs a little taller all in one day.
Maybe we should move on to the part about the sweet little party we enjoyed with her Saturday afternoon?
It really was sweet and simple. Five sweet girlfriends plus a brother and some adults that love her dearly, baby dolls, cupcakes and a quilt laid out on the patio. Some cucumber sandwiches (so much easier and less pretentious than they sound) and sweet tea plus a big carafe full of milk to wash down the cupcakes.
Striped straws and felt garland all pulled from leftover parties and projects. A dotted pink paper tablecloth from Target and a mint dotted top for a sunny afternoon.
In a last-minute effort to make things look festive, I picked up some potted daffodils at the grocery store and wrapped the plastic pot with pretty fabric and tied it with a string. I pulled our plates and bowls out of the cupboards and arranged cupcakes and sandwiches on them all around the table. We used three pink candles from the same box of candles we’ve been using for the past five years, and splurged on yummy cupcakes from our favorite cupcake shop that were beyond worth it.
It was pretty marvelous.
She is pretty marvelous. She felt loved. The day felt super special. And we all managed to keep our sanity at the same time.
Goodness, are we thankful for this girl.
I LOVE the idea for that little cupcake stand! Easy and cute :)
And happy birthday to both Hazel and YOU momma!
How cute! Love the table set up, I’ll have to remember the plates on bowls thing :) Happy Birthday Miss Hazel!
It looks beautiful! I wish my little guy would wear a crown.
Precious!!! Every bit of it!
She is such a sweetie! Everything looks perfect and so happy.
Have not been able to see your blog for awhile. “Forbidden” kept coming up. I was beginning to think I may never get back on when lo and behold, here it is!
Sweet birthday party for a sweet girl!
Thank you for such a sweet, fun party for your adorable girl! It wasn’t over the top – AND she still felt loved and super special! I love it!
I love her face in that last picture. She knows she is loved, Rae. Good on ya, mama.
I think that was my favorite part about the whole day. I could see on her face how loved she knew she was.
Plates + bowls cupcake stands = genius. I love your brain.
Aw, love this – Hazel looks so happy!! And love love your aesthetic. Just found your blog, it rocks :)
Aaaand, reminds me of my recent attempt – burnt cupcakes at 10:55pm the night before my 3 year olds preschool birthday day. #mommyfail #checktheoventemp
