Yes, a breakfast date. With the nutsiest 3-year-old I know.
Eating her Honey Nut Cheerios.
Sitting in her long-ago-retired high chair that only came out of storage this week to accommodate a young dinner guest.
Unwilling to say goodbye to her tall, white throne a second time.
Getting really good at practicing her silly face and her happy face.
And pretty good at her very best sad face, too (complete with random single tear – well played!).Yes, this is my girl. And these are our mornings.
And I look at these pictures from breakfast with my little girl this week – of Hazel in the high chair that she doesn’t want to let go of – and think, what will it hurt for her to have a few more meals in her tall white throne or eat a few more oatmeal cookies in bed with her Mommy?
Because I know our breakfast date mornings are counting down to preschool and high school and even someday maybe a bridal brunch.
Here’s to soaking in the mornings of “Chay-yos” and “may-ilk”, and maybe even a few more days of that crazy high chair.
(Any chance you think I could talk her into sitting in it for her bridal brunch one day? That would be weird… right?)
Oh this makes me want to pull out our high chairs too! Although I don’t think my almost 5 year old boys would fit. ;) We had those same IKEA chairs too. My boys start kindergarten in the fall and I’m trying to soak up as much of these days as I can before they are officially big boys.
Speaking as a young lady in college who is away from her mamma most times, H will never get too old for you. She will want to sneak away from her bridal brunch to go share that oatmeal cookie in bed, trust me.
:)
She’s just beautiful in her high chair with her silly faces. These moments are the ones that make life so incredibly precious. Give that girl an extra cookie, she deserves it.
This post just makes me smile… and kinda ache in side for 5ohBig’s someday maybe bridal brunch. Love you!
Oh I love this! What precious thoughts for “the little years”. That cutie looks just like her mama p.s. :)
OK, I am probably the only one who noticed this, but it cracks me up. Did you intentionally misspell your name in the watermark on the last photo? I think it cracks me up because I have been known to misspell my own name occasionally. I’ll be writing too fast and throw in an extra loop or two at the end.
Hazel is getting so big! Such a pretty little lady.
oh, that hazel is a keeper. :) and you are so right about the one more day thing…i love keeping them close while we can, because i suspect that also keeps them close later. love to you all.
Time sure zips by with little ones. I am currently surrounded by two very messy munchkins with food everywhere but i know one day i’ll miss the mess ;) thanks for sharing
